Our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy live together so you can see how Dictation Practice operates, protects your data, and what options you retain.

Terms of Use

1. Terms

By using Dictation Practice you agree to be bound by these terms, all applicable laws, and understand that this tool is provided to help you practice English dictation and spelling. The content on the site remains protected by copyright and trademark law.

2. Use License

Permission is granted for your personal, non-commercial, temporary practice sessions. You may not alter, copy, reverse-engineer, remove notices, or mirror the materials. This license terminates automatically if restrictions are violated.

3. Disclaimer

All materials, including the practice exercises and instructional content, are provided “as is”. Dictation Practice disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

4. Limitations

Dictation Practice and its suppliers are not liable for damages (including loss of data, profits, or business interruption) even if they were advised of the possibility of such damages. Certain jurisdictions may not allow these limits.

5. Accuracy of Materials

Content may contain technical, typographical, or photographic errors. We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or that content will be updated, although we strive to keep information current.

6. Modifications

We may revise these terms at any time without prior notice. Your continued use of the site after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

7. Access & Payment Model

Dictation Practice provides one-month access purchases rather than an auto-renewing subscription. Each purchase grants a single month of use; to continue beyond that period, you must manually reactivate through the practice experience. All sales are final—no refunds are issued—though we encourage you to contact support if you encounter technical issues so we can assist swiftly. The premium modal surfaces curated lists and specialized drills designed to reinforce spelling accuracy, while your own uploads and saved word bundles stay private to you.

Privacy Policy

Who We Are & What This Covers

This policy applies to information collected when you use Dictation Practice, including the web app, practice sessions, dashboard, blog content, and premium lists exposed via the upgrade modal.

Information We Collect

We collect the data you provide (account email, name), practice inputs (word lists, repetition settings, playback preferences), session logs, and anonymous analytics. Premium modal interactions and preconfigured lists are also tracked to help us highlight the most effective drills. We also receive profile data from authentication providers (Google, Apple) when you sign in.

How We Use Information

Your data syncs across devices, personalizes drills, generates the stats you see, and powers account notifications. Premium list usage tells us which curated drills are most helpful. Analytics help us identify trends, monitor performance, and improve the experience.

Cookies & Tracking

Cookies and similar technologies keep you signed in, remember preferences, and record feature usage. Essential cookies may persist beyond a session; analytics cookies remain anonymized. You can control cookie settings via your browser.

Sharing & Disclosure

We never sell your personal data. We share information with service providers (authentication, payments, analytics) under contractual safeguards, or when required by law or to protect rights. In the unlikely event of a merger or acquisition, user data would transfer subject to this policy.

Choices

Limit what you share, opt out of promotional communications, block cookies, or close your account to delete data. Account closures remove personally identifiable information within 30 days, while aggregated insights may persist in anonymized form.

Your Rights

If you live in jurisdictions with data protections (including GDPR), you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or transfer of your personal data.

International Transfers

We serve users worldwide, so data may be accessed or stored outside the EEA. When this occurs, we adopt adequate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or certified privacy frameworks.

Ads & Analytics by Others

Third-party ad or analytics partners may set their own tracking technologies. This policy covers only Dictation Practice; review their notices for how they handle data.

Policy Updates

We post updates here and refresh the “last updated” date. Significant changes that materially affect your rights are also announced by email when possible.
